When you ask Jiki for help, your question is answered by an AI model that costs real money to run. To keep Ask Jiki fast, reliable, and available to everyone, we apply some sensible limits to how many messages you can send. This page explains how those limits work.
For the vast majority of learners, you'll never notice these limits. They only come into play if you're sending an unusually high number of messages.
The limits
There are two message limits:
- Daily limit: up to 100 messages per day.
- Monthly limit: up to 500 messages per month.
A "message" is a single question you send to Jiki. Jiki's reply doesn't count against your limit, only the messages you send.
As you get close to a limit, we'll show a gentle heads-up under the message box so you're never caught by surprise.
When the limits reset
Both limits reset automatically, so hitting one is always temporary:
- The daily limit resets at midnight UTC.
- The monthly limit resets on the 1st of each month.
Once a limit resets, you can carry on chatting with Jiki straight away.
Sending messages too quickly
Separately from the daily and monthly caps, we limit how rapidly messages can be sent in a short burst. If you send a lot of messages in quick succession, you may be asked to wait a few moments before continuing. This protects the service for everyone and clears on its own within a minute.
Why we have these limits
These limits exist for a few reasons:
- Keeping Jiki sustainable. Each AI response has a real cost. Fair limits let us offer generous AI help without it becoming unsustainable.
- Keeping Jiki fast for everyone. Limiting extreme usage keeps the service responsive for all learners.
- Encouraging great learning habits. The goal is for Jiki to help you get unstuck and keep moving, not to replace the productive struggle that builds real understanding.
What if I need more?
If you're regularly bumping into these limits, it usually means you're learning intensively, which is great! Jiki Premium includes more generous AI usage along with full access to the rest of the platform.
If you have any questions about fair usage, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
