Jiki turns 10 days old today. An early milestone, but a good one to take a moment to reflect upon!
So far we've launched in an open beta. Other than one post on Discord, we've not really announced the beta. We have a small banner at the top of Exercism, and a modal that pops up to people who self-identify as beginners suggesting they use Jiki instead, and that's about it for marketing.
But... we've already had thousands of people sign up and nearly 25,000 lessons completed, which I'm very happy with. About 60% of people complete one lesson, and of that group, 34% complete 8+ lessons on their first day, which I'm really happy with!
Our beta users have found a few bugs and a few things that could be improved. As a result, I've reworked the three "relational" exercises (snowman, sun, and traffic lights) and also Structured House, the big relational project. I've also pushed a lot of other small fixes. A massive thank you to everyone who's posted on the forum.
There's also been lots of people using "Ask Jiki", thousands of conversations. I'm looking forward to reading through lots of them to improve the AI, but I've pushed out some improvements today based on my own personal testing, which should hopefully make Jiki a bit smarter!
A few of our power-testers (more senior developers) have reached milestone 7, where the content pauses. I'll be releasing the next few milestones in the next few days, so there will be more for you to play with soon!
I'm really excited to launch the "Build with Jeremy" section in a few weeks!
